Sarah tried on her socks yesterday and she cannot get them over her heel. They are the right length and fit her foot - but the heel and arch are too small.
So I am keeping them for me and will knit her another pair.

Miss B, I have high, high arches and I do heel flaps (top down for me, fingering weight) with 20-21 chain stitches along the edge, or about 40-42 rows in the heel flap.
It works for me.
... and I forgot to say... I usually cast on for a loose-ish fitting ankle.
Or, did you want these socks for you in the first place?? :-)
Well, it's too bad they don't fit Sarah; I bet you even tried them on your feet to make sure they fit, didn't you???? ;)
Sure missed you and Melissa at Cat Bordhi's event last Friday. Was glad to see Duffy, though; that gal's a hoot!
See you at OFAF!
Bobbie
Well, drat; that's annoying for you. (Unless you really, really did want them for yourself. [g]) But you can at least say you've got the kinks worked out, and version 2.0 will be perfect.
And are you definitely going to make OF&F? Judy's giving me a lift, bless her, and I'm all excited - it'll finally be my first fiber festival! Hope to see you there with more of the gang!
